Loving the fall foliage at this time of year…feels like permission and a reminder from nature to release and shed what no longer serves. As the leaves start to change colors and fall to the ground- they’ve experienced their full cycle of life and now are releasing to the earth what needs to be transformed.

This is a perfect time to evaluate what is happening in your life and decide what needs to stay and what needs to go. Often we get fixated or stuck on the way things should or need to be … But really, we have the power of choice at any time to decide what serves us and what does not.

Some shedding tips for the Fall:

  • Look at your schedule of activities for the week or the people you are spending your time with and ask if it serves your highest good – notice how your body (not your mind) responds.
  • Notice if you are doing certain things out of habit or because you truly want to do them. Check in and see if there is any wiggle room to make some space for what brings you joy.
  • Say no to something that you TRULY don’t want to do even if it makes you or someone else uncomfortable. As you listen to your needs under the surface and consistently honor them, you’ll experience more alignment in your body and mind.

As we observe how naturally the trees shed their leaves, we can also connect with that aspect of nature as we release and shed what feels stagnant or no longer serves. This may mean that we sit in a space of the unknown before something else takes its place. This is not easy. In fact, it’s often uncomfortable. It’s in these spaces ‘in between’ that so much can alchemize and transform. As we give ourselves even short moments of pause or open space, we invite the universe to offer us something that resonates more deeply with what we REALLY desire.
